This is a 4 layer print. It was done on very thin paper. 2 layers on front and 2 on the back. Then I applied melted wax with a foam brush and ironed it to even the wax out. The wax reveals the layers on the back side and adds a slight color variation.

“Survival” and “Insight” screen prints. By Austin Cooper. Edition of 12 each.

Relaxing day. Made a tasty lunch and went for the first bike ride of the year. Calm breeze, open roads, and warm temps. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

Self portrait I did for class. Each layer of this screen print was done with drawing fluid to get a loose painting effect. Over 40 layers on there. Not for sure though because I lost count after awhile.

I was bored last Saturday night and locked myself in the studio for 15 straight hours. I forced myself to finish the whole print in one night. I was experimenting with some old rusty metal a friend found for me. I printed on paper for proofs at first but then decided to do more. Not happy with the background in the paper version so I am eventually going to redo them.
